First of all, where I am from they don't allow smoking in restaurants. Apparently in St. Louis that is not the case, it's unfortunate but something I can live with if the food is good. My wife and I are huge fans of real Mexican food, the stuff they actually eat in Mexico. That is not to say that I don't enjoy well done Tex-Mex, which is actually really hard to find. We went to Acapulco R&L hoping it was one of the real places. After inspecting the menu we quickly were aware we were in one of the Tex-Mex joints. We decided to at least try the food. When it came out the whole plate was a smudge of what my wife refered to as dog food. If you have ever been to one of the big chains like Don Pablos or the like, that is what it looked like. You could tell that the whole thing was premade. If that is what you like, or are used to calling 'Mexican' then I have more bad news for you. The smell of the food was terrible, and the salt level was nearly a lethal dose. I believe I am now paying the price of that meal gastro-intestinally.
